Minnesota State University’s men’s hockey program used its annual media day to showcase the latest uniform updates, revealing a sleek white home jersey that will dominate the 2026‑27 schedule.
The new sweater features a bold script ‘Mavericks’ wordmark across the chest, while the shoulders are trimmed in purple with a thin yellow border that frames the school’s secondary bull emblem, a stylized bull’s head set within an outline of the state’s shape.
Striped purple and yellow accents run along the sleeves and waist, and the player numbers are rendered in purple with a matching yellow outline. Names on the back appear in a single shade of purple, giving the look a unified, streamlined appearance.
Compared with the previous season’s home kit, the shoulders now carry contrasting color, a detail that was absent before, and the numbers retain the same purple‑yellow treatment but gain a cleaner silhouette.
The away jersey swaps the white base for a deep purple field highlighted by yellow striping and an arched ‘MINNESOTA STATE’ across the front, while a bright yellow alternate sweater bears the word ‘MAVERICKS’ in a bull‑shaped script.
The women’s team, though absent from this season’s media day, continues to wear a similar aesthetic with subtle tweaks in shoulder yoke placement and stripe spacing, and their road uniforms incorporate white outlines and matching striping, complemented by a yellow alternate that showcases the bull head logo on purple shoulders.
Season Opener Matchups
The men’s squad opens the campaign at home against the Wisconsin Badgers on October 9 and 10 at the Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center, while the women’s team begins its schedule by hosting Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute’s Engineers on September 25 and 26.
Both games mark the first chance for fans to see the new designs in action, and the university hopes the fresh look will energize the crowd and reinforce school spirit as the teams move forward in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association.
