Fans who want to catch a first look at the University of Connecticut’s women’s basketball squad can now purchase tickets for an open practice scheduled at Sacred Heart University.
The session, priced at $40 per ticket with a limit of six per buyer, will take place on September 20 at 2 p.m. and will be streamed via the UConn website.
Inside the Drills
Coaches will run a series of shell drills and a 4‑on‑4 defensive exercise before moving into a 30‑minute 5‑on‑5 scrimmage divided into three ten‑minute periods.
The practice marks the second straight year the Huskies have opened their preseason workouts to the public at Sacred Heart, an event that drew a full house last year.
It also serves as the inaugural opportunity for observers to see the new roster under head coach Geno Auriemma, who returns for another season.
The team’s first preseason game is set for October 12 against Syracuse in the Hall of Fame Series Exhibition at Mohegan Sun Arena, a venue that will host the event.
UConn’s regular season begins on November 2 against Cornell, and the non‑conference slate also includes matchups with Michigan, South Carolina and LSU.
Tickets for the 2025 open practice sold out in less than a week, underscoring the strong demand for a glimpse of the program ahead of the upcoming campaign.
