Ryan Ahlum, a 2013 graduate of Myers Park High School, has been appointed head coach of the school’s varsity baseball program, succeeding Erik Foor who recently moved to Hough as an assistant coach.

Ahlum’s journey from standout player to seasoned mentor reflects a deep‑rooted connection to the program that has defined his career.
During his nine‑year tenure as associate head coach, he helped guide the team to a 172‑41 record, captured multiple conference titles and led several deep postseason runs, earning all‑conference honors twice as a player and building a reputation for developing talent.
Principal Robert Folk praised the appointment, describing Ahlum’s trajectory as a model of dedication and highlighting his commitment to excellence and the growth of student‑athletes.
