Former England Star Raheem Sterling Charged After Motorway Incident
Raheem Sterling, the 31‑year‑old former England international, has been without a club since his short‑term spell at Dutch side Feyenoord concluded last season.
On May 28, Sterling’s Lamborghini was involved in a single‑vehicle collision on the M3 motorway in southern England. Police reports indicated that the crash was isolated, with no other vehicles or pedestrians injured.
The incident triggered a criminal investigation that produced two charges: dangerous driving and possession of nitrous oxide, the latter classified as a wrongful inhalation offence. Investigators also allege that Sterling failed to provide a breath specimen when requested by officers.
Sterling is scheduled to appear before a magistrate on September 15, where the prosecution will outline the evidence and the court will determine the next steps in the case.
His career includes Premier League stints with Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal, as well as a brief period in the Netherlands before he found himself without a contract heading into the summer.
