A new era for women’s professional basketball

Unrivaled, the Miami‑based 3‑on‑3 women’s basketball league co‑founded by Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier, has closed a Series C round that raised more than $100 million, pushing the franchise’s valuation to $650 million.

The funding, led by Ten Pillars Sports Fund with backing from UC Investments and returning investors such as Carmelo Anthony, Ashton Kutcher and Geno Auriemma, values the players’ collective stake at nearly $200 million, representing roughly 30 percent of the league’s total worth.

Since its inaugural season, the league has expanded from six to eight clubs and now includes 54 athletes, selling out venues like the Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia and the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The Philadelphia game attracted 21,490 spectators, setting attendance records for professional women’s basketball.

Revenue has surged from $27 million in the first season to $45 million in the second, underscoring growing commercial interest. The new capital will be directed toward expanding the Miami operations, increasing road events, and enhancing fan experiences, with the third season slated to debut on TNT Sports in January 2027.

Unrivaled’s chief executive, Breanna Stewart, emphasized the league’s player‑first model, noting that investor confidence validates a sustainable future for elite women athletes.
