A New Era of Military‑Centric Racing
A centerpiece of the lineup is a race at Naval Base Coronado, scheduled to honor the men and women who serve in the armed forces. The event marks the return of NASCAR to the Southern California installation and is part of a broader partnership between the sport and the Department of Defense that will see additional races hosted at U.S. military bases beginning in 2028.
Before the Daytona 500, fans will experience the exhibition Clash race, a non‑championship showcase that has become a fan favorite. Later in the season, the All‑Star race will be staged at North Wilkesboro Speedway, reviving the historic venue for the sport’s marquee non‑points event.
The championship weekend at Homestead‑Miami Speedway will feature a $20 million renovation aimed at enhancing the race‑day experience for spectators and teams alike. The upgrades include improved hospitality areas and upgraded facilities, underscoring the track’s commitment to world‑class competition.
New dates have been added to the schedule as well. Dover Motor Speedway will host a Cup Series points race on May 16, sitting directly after the All‑Star event, while Pocono Raceway will support all three national series during its June weekend.
