Joy Okonye, a senior midfielder for the Brown Bears, has been selected for the 2026 MAC Hermann Trophy watch list, a distinction that places her among the nation’s most promising women’s college soccer players.
Her 2025 campaign was nothing short of spectacular: she netted seven goals and contributed five assists in 17 starts, earning Ivy League Offensive Player of the Year honors and a unanimous first‑team All‑Ivy nod. The performance added to a career résumé that includes 32 points from eight goals and 16 assists across 53 appearances.
The Hermann Trophy, often described as the Heisman Trophy of women’s soccer, is awarded each year based on votes from Division I head coaches.
