NASCAR Unveils 2027 Calendar, Highlighting Military Tributes and Expanded Base Racing

The new schedule spans from Daytona to Homestead, with special events and infrastructure upgrades across the United States.

A schedule that blends tradition with tribute

The 2027 NASCAR season will open at Daytona International Speedway and close at Homestead‑Miami Speedway, continuing a tradition that began in 2026. The calendar was released recently and includes a notable return to Naval Base Coronado, where a race will pay tribute to the armed forces.

Alongside the Coronado event, the schedule features a double‑header in San Diego that will host both the Cup Series and the O’Reilly Auto Parts Truck Series. This marks the first time the city will stage races for both national divisions in the same weekend.

NASCAR and the Department of Defense have also disclosed a multi‑year agreement to bring street‑style races to additional military installations, with the first of those events slated for 2028. The partnership underscores a broader effort to connect the sport with service members and their families.

Other highlights include the exhibition Clash, which will take place at Daytona before the season‑opening Daytona 500, and the All‑Star race, now set for North Wilkesboro Speedway in North Carolina. Dover Motor Speedway will host a Cup Series points race on May 16, while the Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway in South Carolina will serve as the final regular‑season event, determining the playoff field.

Homestead‑Miami Speedway is undergoing a $20 million capital project aimed at improving fan amenities and race‑day experiences, ensuring that the championship weekend remains a premier attraction. Pocono Raceway will showcase all three of NASCAR’s national series during its June weekend, adding variety to the calendar.
