The Cleveland Browns have announced a strategic partnership with Italy’s Italian Federation of American Football (FIDAF) aimed at accelerating the growth of American football throughout the country.
A transatlantic push for the gridiron
Central to the collaboration is a plan to amplify the stories of players who are shaping the sport in their communities, while also launching a series of flag‑football initiatives designed for youth, women and national teams.
The joint effort will see a network of football camps and clinics rolled out across Italian regions, providing hands‑on training and exposure to the game’s fundamentals.
Haslam Sports Group Chief Marketing Officer Brent Rossi said the alliance offers a unique platform to extend the Browns’ reach through football, culture and community, noting that Italy’s passionate fan base presents an untapped opportunity.
FIDAF President Leoluca Orlando echoed the sentiment, describing the partnership as a pivotal step in the international expansion of Italian American football and a chance to bring the sport to a broader audience.
The initiative will engage clubs, athletes, flag‑football leagues, national squads and young enthusiasts, creating a grassroots ecosystem that could redefine the sport’s presence in Europe.
