The Unrivaled 3-on-3 women’s basketball league announced that its latest Series C funding round has lifted its valuation to $650 million, nearly doubling the figure from its previous round.
The round, which surpassed the league’s original $100 million target, was led by Ten Pillar Sports Fund in partnership with UC Investments, with additional participation from other backers. As part of the deal, the equity allocated to players is now valued at close to $200 million, a 550% increase since the league’s inception.
Unrivaled president Alex Bazzell said the new capital exceeds the total amount raised in all prior rounds combined, underscoring the confidence investors have in the league’s growth trajectory. Breanna Stewart, a co-founder and star player, added that the funding validates the mission of giving athletes a stake in the value they help create.
A New Era for Women’s Basketball
The infusion of capital will be directed toward player development programs, enhanced fan engagement initiatives, and the expansion of the league’s schedule. Unrivaled plans to host eight new tour stops in 2027, building on the sold-out events that drew capacity crowds in New York and Philadelphia last year.
The league already enjoys a six-year media rights agreement with TNT and began its third season in the winter of 2026. While the previous season’s ratings were dampened by clashes with high-profile events such as the Milan-Cortina Olympics and the College Football Playoff, executives remain optimistic that the additional resources will translate into stronger viewership.
By leveraging the fresh investment, Unrivaled aims to accelerate the visibility of women’s basketball, attract broader audiences, and cement its role as a catalyst for the sport’s continued rise.
