The Rams are gearing up for a competitive season as the new campaign approaches, bringing together a blend of experienced returnees and fresh talent. Head coach Eduardo Yagües Nuño, who also oversees the City College of San Francisco program, has emphasized building a deeper defensive unit while sharpening the offense.
At the heart of the offense is Braeden Waterman, the former SEC quarterback who will make his Juco debut with the Rams. Waterman’s experience from Ole Miss and Colorado State brings a level of poise that coaches hope will translate into more consistent scoring drives.
Fortifying the Defensive Line
The defensive front will be anchored by Kam’ron Bizor and Mwandishi 'Junior' Adams, who together recorded ten sacks last season. Both players have been praised for their relentless pass rush and ability to disrupt opposing backfields, giving the Rams a chance to improve a unit that finished 29th in points allowed.
Coach Nuño has made it clear that recruiting more players and standardizing performance during preseason training are top priorities. By instilling a strong team culture, he believes the Rams can handle injuries more effectively and maintain a balanced attack on both sides of the ball.
The season opener is scheduled for August 29, 2026, at Hughes Stadium against the Sacramento City College Panthers. The matchup will serve as the first test of the new-look roster and will set the tone for the weeks ahead.
Early projections suggest the Rams’ offense, which also ranked 29th in points scored last year, still has room for growth. However, with Waterman at quarterback and a more cohesive receiving corps that includes Landon Bell, the coaching staff is optimistic about a more potent aerial attack.
