Philadelphia Union Partners with Parkwood Youth to Build Local Talent Pipeline

The new affiliation aims to provide specialized training, tryouts and community development for Parkwood Soccer players.

The Philadelphia Union and the Parkwood Youth Organization have announced a new affiliation designed to create a clear talent pipeline from Parkwood Soccer to the Union’s youth teams.

Under the agreement, Parkwood players will gain access to specialized positional training, tryouts for Union select teams and invitations to elite development programs, as well as participation in Union‑run clinics and camps.

The partnership also brings Parkwood’s volunteer coaches into collaboration with Union technical staff, giving them access to the club’s curriculum and resources to enhance player development.

Local Roots, Global Ambitions

"Phil Griffiths, technical director of Philadelphia Union Youth, praised the leadership shown by Parkwood’s organization for contributing to the Union’s player pathway program," the Union said in a statement.

"Dan Singleton, President of Parkwood Soccer, described the affiliation as an investment in the local soccer community and a stepping stone for young athletes to reach higher levels," he said.

Based in the Parkwood section of Northeast Philadelphia, the youth organization emphasizes community development, making the collaboration a natural fit for both parties.
