Tennessee Baseball Nears End of 2026 Regular Season, Eyes Chapel Hill Regional

Four games remain as the Vols prepare for the SEC Tournament and a potential NCAA regional

Tennessee's 2026 baseball campaign is winding down, with just four contests left on the schedule. The Vols will close out their regular season at home against Belmont, meeting the Bruins at Lindsey Nelson Stadium on Tuesday.

A tight race in the final stretch

After that, the team hits the road for a three‑game series in Oklahoma, where they will play at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. The trip marks the final stretch of a demanding road trip that could shape their postseason positioning.

The SEC Tournament is slated for May 19‑24 at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium in Hoover, Alabama, providing another chance for the Vols to fine‑tune before the NCAA field is set.

The NCAA Tournament bracket will be unveiled on May 25, and regional play is scheduled to begin on May 29, setting the stage for the next round of competition.

Postseason prospects

Analysts currently project Tennessee as the No. 2 seed in the Chapel Hill Regional, a site hosted by North Carolina. The Vols previously competed in that regional in 2019, when they fell to the Tar Heels after victories over UNC Wilmington and Liberty.

Coached by Tony Vitello, the club will look to replicate that 2019 run, hoping to advance further this time around.

With the postseason picture taking shape, the Vols are focused on executing their game plan, leveraging home‑field advantage when possible, and staying disciplined against tough opponents.
