Alvernia University’s men’s soccer squad, known as the Golden Wolves, are reshaping their roster for the upcoming season, bringing in 18 first‑year players and a graduate transfer who captured a conference championship last year.
Coach Casey Moore says the staff is focused on tightening possession, building confidence and sharpening tactical execution, especially in creating space and finishing chances.
A Fresh Look for the Golden Wolves
The offense will be anchored by returning standouts Chase Malone, Joseph Washington and Aidan Courtney, who combined for three goals and two assists for Malone in the previous campaign.
In goal, the team will field three capable keepers, with Evan Solley’s record‑setting career leaving big shoes to fill but a healthy competition expected among the newcomers.
Defensively, the Wolves aim to improve on a season that saw them rank eighth in goals allowed in the MAC Commonwealth, hoping to convert many of last year’s draws into victories.
Key Matchups and Early Tests
The season opens with a road test at Lebanon Valley on September 1, followed by a home debut against Penn State Berks on September 4, and continues with contests against Lancaster Bible College and Elizabethtown College that promise early insight into the team’s progress.
