The Augustana Vikings are set to kick off their 2026 campaign with a pair of road games in Oklahoma, opening the season against Southern Nazarene and then Central Oklahoma.
Season Outlook
Returning seniors Madelyn White and Ashlyn Kelliher headline a roster that blends 12 fresh faces with 24 veterans from the previous year, giving the team a balanced mix of experience and new energy.
Coach Brandon Barkus, now in his 21st season with the program, says the blend of returning seniors and newcomers creates a promising foundation for a competitive year.
Last season the Vikings finished sixth in the NSIC with an 11‑5‑3 record and captured the Offensive Player of the Year award for White, who tallied 13 goals and two assists for 28 points.
Kelliher earned Defensive Player of the Year honors, starting 17 of 19 matches and helping the back line limit opponents to just 0.89 goals per game.
Central Oklahoma, known as the Broncos, entered the MIAA Preseason Coaches' Poll fifth and reached the league championship final in 2025, while Southern Nazarene closed out 2025 with a 6‑9‑3 record and missed the GAC tournament.
The Vikings will host Northwest Missouri State on September 6, 2026, at Morstad Field, a game that could serve as an early measuring stick for the squad.
