Kentucky Wildcats unveil ambitious non‑conference slate

Schedule features NCAA Tournament teams, Sweet Sixteen foes, and a road game in Syracuse

A challenging non‑conference roadmap

The University of Kentucky women’s basketball team has finalized a 14‑game non‑conference schedule that blends home comforts with tests against some of the nation’s top programs. The slate includes nine home contests, four neutral‑site games and a single true road game, offering a varied competitive environment as the Wildcats prepare for the upcoming season.

Five teams on the schedule are slated to appear in the 2026 NCAA Tournament, among them two Sweet Sixteen opponents — Louisville and Virginia. In addition, the Wildcats will face the 2026 Women’s National Invitation Tournament champions, Marshall, providing another marquee matchup.

Geographic diversity is a hallmark of the schedule. While the majority of games will be played at the team’s home venue, four contests will take place at neutral sites, and a true road game at Le Moyne College in Syracuse, New York, will allow the program to support three local players — Clara Strack, Emily McDonald and Savvy Swords.

Two of the home games will be held at Rupp Arena, included as part of season‑ticket packages, giving fans the chance to experience the iconic venue. The Wildcats will also appear in two national television showcases: the Ally Tipoff and the Sprouts Farmers Market espnW Invitational, further raising the program’s profile.

The schedule also reflects a strategic mix of conferences, featuring four Atlantic Coast Conference opponents and a total of ten non‑Power‑4 teams. This blend is designed to test the Wildcats against a range of playing styles while maintaining a manageable travel load.
