A New Look for the Crimson
Harvard’s men’s basketball program has announced a modest but meaningful adjustment to its 2026‑27 slate, moving the regular‑season finale from March 6 to March 5. The game will be played at Columbia University in New York City and is slated to tip off at 6 p.m. Eastern time.
The Crimson will open the new campaign with an exhibition matchup against UMass on October 23 at Lavietes Pavilion, giving fans an early glimpse of the revamped roster before the official opener.
The first regular‑season contest is scheduled for November 2 against MIT, also at Columbia, with a 7 p.m. ET start that promises a clash of Ivy League talent and a strong engineering school program.
Returning Talent and Leadership
Harvard finished the previous season with a 17‑12 overall record and a 10‑4 mark in the Ivy League, and four of the five starters are set to return, providing continuity and experience.
Among those returnees are senior forward Thomas Batties II and junior guard Robert Hinton, both recognized as All‑Ivy selections last year. They will be joined by co‑captain Xavier Nesbitt, a senior economics major, who will share the leadership duties with Batties II.
