University of Portland reveals 2026‑27 non‑conference slate
The Pilots announced Thursday that their upcoming season will be anchored by a demanding non‑conference schedule that blends home‑court showcase events with high‑profile road tests.
Home games at the Chiles Center
Six home contests will be played at the university’s iconic Chiles Center, providing a familiar backdrop for a roster that returns six veterans from a team that upset No. 6 Gonzaga last year.
The early portion of the schedule features a doubleheader against Willamette University on November 2, followed by matchups versus East Texas A&M, Lamar and Eastern Washington in the weeks that follow.
Trips to Hawaii and Palm Desert
The Pilots will travel to Hawaii for the Rainbow Classic tournament, running from November 6 through 9, before heading to Palm Desert, California, for the Acrisure Series on November 21‑22. Both events promise competitive fields and exposure to diverse playing styles.
Road games against Colorado, Stanford and Utah are slated for November 18, November 29 and December 16 respectively, underscoring the team’s willingness to test itself against Power‑Five programs.
Head Coach Shantay Legans, who guided the Pilots to a 15‑win season, will oversee a roster that blends six returning players with nine fresh recruits, aiming to build on last year’s momentum.
The season will culminate with a home doubleheader against Wyoming on December 19 and a final Division I clash against Long Beach State on December 22, rounding out a schedule that balances ambition with preparation.
