Cal Prepares New Fan Experiences for 2026 Football Season

Renovated Hall of Fame and flagship Team Store aim to deepen community engagement

California Memorial Stadium will welcome fans with two fresh experiences as the 2026 football season approaches, each designed to celebrate the Golden Bears’ rich athletic heritage.

A modern tribute to Golden Bears legacy

The renovated Cal Athletics Hall of Fame showcases storytelling, memorabilia and digital displays that trace the program’s national championships and Olympic traditions. The space was made possible by supporters including Kent Newmark, Pat Newmark, Jerry Siebert and Harry Hathaway, who contributed to its funding.

Co‑Directors Jenny Simon‑O’Neill and Jay Larson described the new venue as a modernized way to share Cal student‑athletes’ success stories, featuring athlete feature panels, a digital display and illuminated signage that bring the Bears’ history to life.

Adjacent to Lisa and Douglas Goldman Plaza and near the Dialpad Club, the Hall of Fame becomes part of a broader fan experience that also includes a newly opened Cal Team Store on Goldman Plaza.

The Cal Team Store will hold an official opening on September 3 with a ribbon‑cutting ceremony, a commemorative giveaway and a 10 percent discount for the first 100 customers. It will operate from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays, with extended hours before home football games.

The store is part of a larger evolution of the Cal Student Store network, which also includes renovations at the main location on Bancroft Way and at Anchor House, aiming to provide a more cohesive and contemporary shopping experience for the campus community.
