Nick Becker’s 14-Year Reign Transforms University of Jamestown Women’s Soccer

From conference crowns to scholar‑athlete pipelines, the coach’s impact stretches far beyond the pitch

Nick Becker entered his fourteenth season as head coach of the University of Jamestown women’s soccer team in 2025, a tenure marked by sustained success and a reputation that extends across the region.

Milestones on the Field

The program’s apex came in 2021 when Becker guided the Jimmies to a 18‑2‑1 record, capturing the GPAC regular‑season title and securing a berth in the NAIA tournament. Two years later, a flawless 11‑0‑1 campaign delivered a second consecutive conference championship and earned him his second straight GPAC Coach of the Year award.

Academic Excellence and Scholar‑Athletes

Beyond wins, Becker’s squads have become a model of scholarly achievement. In recent years, seven NAIA Scholar‑Athlete selections have been recorded, while 25 players have earned all‑conference honors, including the 2020 GPAC Offensive Player of the Year, Kamryn Fiscus, and two All‑Americans, Haley Dyer and Gaby Sarkis.

Life Beyond the Pitch

Becker’s journey to the sidelines began with stints as a graduate assistant at Northern State University and a director of personal training, complemented by his role in the South Dakota Olympic Development Program. A former college All‑American at Presentation College, he holds a USSF ‘A’ license and lives in Jamestown with his wife Tonya and their three children.
