Orangeburg, South Carolina, is set to become the epicenter of youth baseball next summer as it prepares to host the 2027 Diamond Youth Baseball World Series.
The tournament will feature 72 teams of boys aged 9 to 12, competing over two weekends and drawing participants and families from eleven different states.
A boost for the local economy
City Administrator Sidney Erving emphasized that the event is expected to generate a wave of demand for hotels, restaurants and other services, translating into a significant uplift for the regional economy.
Organizers project that the economic footprint of the 2027 series will be roughly three times that of the 2024 Coach Pitch World Series, which was valued at $1.4 million.
Beyond the immediate financial gains, the influx of visitors is likely to leave a lasting imprint on community infrastructure and tourism promotion.
