A Promising Start
Harvard’s women’s soccer squad opened its 2026 campaign in convincing fashion, routing Fairfield 4‑0 at Jordan Field. The Crimson controlled the tempo from the outset, holding the ball for more than 60 % of the contest and generating a flurry of chances.
Three of the four goals arrived within the opening 17 minutes, a burst that put the visitors on the back foot early and set the tone for the match. The early onslaught included a corner‑kick strike by Brooke Huleatt in the seventh minute that found Molly Vana, who would later add another marker.
Freshmen made an immediate impact. Molly Vana, already known for her work ethic, scored twice, while Camila Reinaldo celebrated her first collegiate goal in the second half, linking up with Brooke Huleatt and Elsa Santos Lopez on the play. Írena Héðinsdóttir Gonzalez also contributed an assist that set up Jasmine Leshnick for her second consecutive goal.
The defensive unit was equally impressive, shutting out Fairfield and preserving a clean sheet. Goalkeepers Nicole Bidun and Olivia Busby combined for six saves, ensuring the Crimson’s lead remained intact.

Harvard will now travel to New York to meet Syracuse on August 30, 2026, with kickoff scheduled for 1:00 p.m. ET. The team hopes to carry the momentum from its dominant opening performance into the next contest.
