The Wyoming Area Lady Warriors are set to field a strong lineup for the upcoming season, returning ten players who helped the team finish second in District 2 Class A and share first place in the Wyoming Valley Conference last year. Half of the roster already holds commitments to Division I programs, signaling high expectations for the squad.
A Deep, College‑Ready Squad
Key contributors include midfielder Ella Campenni, a first‑team all‑state selection who will play at Penn State, and forward Talia Pizano, also headed to Michigan State. Both players posted impressive statistics last season, with Campenni recording five goals and seven assists and Pizano contributing 11 goals and 16 assists.
The coaching staff is led by Coach Bree Bednarski, a former Michigan State and Penn State player who stresses competitive spirit and lofty ambitions. Under her guidance, seniors Kayla Karcutskie and Ella Keefer will anchor the defense, while junior forwards Madison Doblovasky, Sophia Risey, Briella Wallace and Addy Keating battle for starting spots.
The team opens with a non‑league match against Pittston Area before its first Wyoming Valley Conference contest on September 9 against Hazleton Area. With a blend of experienced returnees and fresh talent, the Lady Warriors hope to improve on last year’s playoff disappointment and make a deeper run.
Additional commitments include senior midfielder Shannon Kearns to Division II Millersville, goalkeeper Adriana Fanti to King’s College, and defender Bri Dragwa to Susquehanna University. These additions bolster a roster that also features third‑team all‑state midfielder Claudia Rehill, who contributed 10 goals and eight assists in her previous season.
