A Strategic Homecoming for LSU New Orleans Basketball
John Brady, a distinguished figure in college basketball, has been named Senior Advisor for Athletic Advancement and Men’s Basketball Strategy at LSU New Orleans, a role that blends fundraising acumen with programmatic vision.
Brady’s 19‑year tenure as head coach of the LSU Tigers produced a 192‑win record, two SEC championships in 2000 and 2006, and a Final Four appearance in 2006, earning him SEC Coach of the Year honors both years and a place in the LSU Athletics Hall of Fame.
His coaching journey also includes stints at Samford and Arkansas State, where he amassed 89 and 121 victories respectively, and a recent period as a color analyst for the LSU Sports Radio Network.
Bringing Championship Experience Back to the Crescent City
Now back in New Orleans, Brady will leverage his extensive network and championship pedigree to support fundraising efforts for basketball and the broader athletic department, while also guiding strategic direction for the program.
