A Logo That Captures the Spirit of Minnesota Hockey
Maple Grove, Minnesota — On a bright August afternoon, the official emblem for Hockey Day Minnesota 2028 was revealed at Rush Creek Golf Club, drawing a crowd of local enthusiasts eager to see the design that will soon adorn shirts, caps and other memorabilia.
The graphic, commissioned by Experience Maple Grove, blends classic rink motifs with modern typography, aiming to embody the state’s deep‑rooted hockey culture while appealing to a new generation of fans.
Jim Koltes, head coach of the Maple Grove Senior High girls hockey team, spoke about the logo’s power to unite the community. “Seeing our town’s name and colors on something that will travel across the state reminds us why we play for more than just a win,” he said.
Todd Bergland, who leads the boys program, echoed the sentiment, emphasizing that the event is as much about grassroots participation as it is about competition. “It’s a chance to showcase the talent that grows right here in Maple Grove and to inspire the next wave of players,” Bergland added.
The celebration will culminate in January 2028, when a series of games are slated for Central Park, the heart of the city’s winter landscape. Organizers expect the park to transform into a bustling hub of activity, drawing families, alumni and visitors from across Minnesota.
Beyond the on‑ice action, the day will feature merchandise stalls, youth clinics and interactive displays, all designed to reinforce a sense of local pride and to give fans a tangible connection to the upcoming tournament.
