A Michigan State football player is under investigation after allegations of sexual assault surfaced in July 2024.
The accuser, a Dallas resident, says she was attacked in Sharpe’s East Lansing apartment on July 17, describing a third-degree criminal sexual conduct incident.
Allegations and Denials
Sharpe has publicly denied the claims, insisting that any sexual activity was consensual and that the woman initiated the encounter, even recording it.
Police Investigation
Police collected a range of evidence, including two iPhones, towels and a DNA swab taken on August 4, as they sought to verify the allegations.
Legal Status
As of August 27, no formal charges have been filed in the public MiCourt system, leaving the case in a pre-trial limbo.
Sharpe, who transferred from South Carolina where he played under Nick Tabacca, is slated to start at guard for the Spartans this season, having appeared in 33 career games.
