A Weekend of Redemption
Indiana’s field hockey team is set to play a back‑to‑back series this weekend, taking on Miami University and the University of Louisville in a doubleheader that could define its season.
Miami arrives as the nation’s tenth‑ranked squad, a formidable opponent after having edged Indiana 3‑2 in Oxford, Ohio, and 5‑4 in Bloomington last year. An earlier exhibition in Bloomington saw Miami slip past the Hoosiers 1‑0 despite a 10‑4 corner advantage that Indiana failed to convert.
Coach Kayla Bashore has zeroed in on corner execution as the linchpin of her game plan, stressing that precision on both the offensive and defensive ends will be essential against two high‑caliber opponents.
Louisville’s roster will be bolstered by returning standouts Annabel Sep, Gigi Edwards and Aubreigh Uba, with Sep having earned All‑ACC Second Team and NFHCA All‑West Region Second Team honors in 2025. Indiana’s own scoring threats from last season—Charlotte Glasper, Molly Stutte, Anna Mozeleski and Inés García Prado—will look to add their names to the scoresheet once again.
The Saturday matchup is slated for 1 p.m. at Trager Stadium, with live coverage on ESPN+, while Sunday’s contest kicks off at 2 p.m. and will stream on ACCNX, giving fans multiple ways to follow the action.
Beyond the final scores, Bashore says the team is measuring progress in terms of offensive opportunities created and defensive limits imposed, a mindset that could carry the Hoosiers forward as the season unfolds.
