A Night of Drama at Capitol View Park
The 11th Region All ‘A’ girls soccer tournament concluded with a tense penalty shootout that saw Lexington Christian edge out Sayre 2-1 after a 1-1 draw in regulation, delivering a dramatic finish under the lights at Capitol View Park.
The final brought together the region’s top ‘A’ programs, including Frankfort High and The Frankfort Christian Academy, both of which saw their seasons end at the hands of Sayre.
Frankfort High entered the semifinals with high hopes but were overwhelmed 9-1 by Sayre, with Emma Johnson finding the back of the net for the losing side.
Earlier in the tournament, The Frankfort Christian Academy fell 6-1 to Sayre on August 15, a match in which Lily Moore scored the Lady Royals’ solitary goal.
Addison Hiles and Savannah Cambron from Frankfort High earned spots on the all‑tournament team, while Ella Hanson of The Frankfort Christian Academy also received the honor, highlighting the individual talent on display.
