Darlington Raceway Rolls Out Community Celebration Ahead of NASCAR Chase Weekend
From September 3 through September 7, Darlington Raceway will host a series of fan‑focused events that blend competition with charitable giving, setting the stage for the upcoming NASCAR Cup Series and O’Reilly Auto Parts Series races.
The opening day features Track Laps for Charity, where drivers and fans can circle the 2.2‑mile oval for three laps at a $30 per vehicle fee, and participants will receive a commemorative photo with Ricky Stenhouse Jr., adding a personal touch to the experience.
On Friday, September 4, the speedway partners with the American Red Cross for a blood drive, offering donors free merchandise and a chance to win tickets to the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series Fleetio 200, while also supporting a vital health cause.
The same afternoon, downtown Darlington will welcome a Hauler Showcase and Parade starring NASCAR driver Ross Chastain, who will lead a procession of Cup Series haulers and field questions from the crowd, giving fans a behind‑the‑scenes look at the teams that will compete later in the weekend.
Saturday’s schedule includes the Terrence F. Carraway Memorial 5K, a community run that will see Ross Chastain cheering participants and directing proceeds to the foundation named for the late racing advocate.
Throughout the week, a 50/50 raffle runs from September 1 to 7, with half of the prize pool earmarked for Darlington Shares, a local initiative that funds youth programs in the Pee Dee region.
Fans can also explore the Darlington Raceway Stock Car Museum, where adult admission is $8 and children 12 and under enter free, while special weekend passes that grant driver interactions and Q&A sessions are available for $29 for kids and $40 for adults.
