Tim Ravet, a former basketball coach who once led the Royal boys to a third‑place finish at the 2025 Class 2A state tournament, now faces a felony assault charge stemming from an altercation in Nashville.

The confrontation occurred on March 9 at Kid Rock’s Big Ass Honky Tonk & Rock N’ Roll Steakhouse, where police say Ravet resisted arrest and elbowed a security officer near the nose, according to a police affidavit.
Prosecutors also recommended a misdemeanor public intoxication charge, and a judge set Ravet’s bond at $1,600, scheduling a bench trial for October 5 at 9 a.m.
Ravet’s attorney, Nickolas Schulenberg, confirmed that he represents Ravet and that the parties have reached a mutual agreement to avoid further legal claims against the restaurant.
Coaching Legacy
Ravet’s recent resignation from Ellensburg follows a distinguished career that includes three consecutive 2B boys state titles from 2017 to 2019 and a 2021 stint coaching girls basketball at Kittitas, where he was named the 2025 Class 2A girls coach of the year.
The Royal School District is currently reviewing Ravet’s employment status after the incident, while the case has drawn attention from local sports circles given his reputation as a winning coach.
