The Presbyterian Blue Hose traveled to Baltimore on Friday night for a non‑conference showdown against the UMBC Retrievers, a match that concluded with a 5‑1 loss for the visitors.
The scoring opened in the 13th minute when Gabe Carvalho struck first, tapping home a pass from Mo Alahmad to put Presbyterian ahead.
UMBC responded swiftly, with Abdul Kamara delivering two of the Retrievers’ four goals, while additional strikes from other attackers stretched the lead.
The Retrievers’ offense was relentless, adding two more goals before the half‑hour mark and maintaining control throughout the contest.
Looking Ahead
Coach Aidom Tadesse and the squad will now return to campus before a Monday afternoon clash with Navy on August 31, marking the final game of their Maryland road trip.
Despite the loss, the team hopes the experience will sharpen their tactics as they prepare for the remainder of the season.
