Steve Hagen, a seasoned coach with prior experience in the National Football League, now heads the NFL Academy (UK), where he blends professional discipline with a grassroots approach.
A Coach's Philosophy
Hagen stresses hard work and passion, believing that players from diverse backgrounds can excel when they commit to relentless effort and collective camaraderie.
On August 28, 2026, the academy’s team traveled to Akron, Ohio, to face Hoban, ultimately securing a 28-14 victory that underscored the effectiveness of Hagen’s methods.
The performance of the offensive and defensive lines, anchored by a talented quarterback, drew particular praise for their cohesion and execution on the field.
Hagen acknowledged a few holding penalties in the closing moments, but he expressed satisfaction with the team’s overall effort and the camaraderie that had developed among the players.
