Elliott Marin Clinches 2026 Rawlings Gold Glove
The accolade, presented by the National Junior College Athletic Association, celebrates the best defensive talent across Divisions I, II and III, as chosen by the American Baseball Coaches Association.
Marin’s 2025‑26 season was marked by a .429 batting average, 78 runs batted in, 20 doubles and 13 home runs, while his fielding percentage sat at a near‑perfect .997, underscoring his reliability between the lines.
What sets Marin apart is his versatility; he logged time on the mound and across the outfield and infield, becoming one of only two players in the college’s recent history to excel in both pitching and fielding roles.
Coach Roger Ward, who has guided the Norsemen for several seasons, praised the player’s work ethic and team‑first attitude, describing him as the embodiment of the program’s values.
Beyond the statistics, Marin expressed gratitude for the friendships and personal growth he experienced at NEO, noting that the college environment helped shape him into a better athlete and a better person.
The award not only highlights Marin’s individual achievements but also shines a light on the supportive infrastructure of Northeastern Oklahoma A&M’s baseball program, a point echoed by the college’s athletic department.
