Brno Team Receives 2026 Sportsmanship Honor
The South Czech Republic Little League from Brno, Czechia, was presented with the 2026 Jack Losch Little League Baseball World Series Team Sportsmanship Award, a distinction that reflects exemplary conduct both on the diamond and in the broader tournament environment.
Selection of the award involved a vote by participants, hosts, volunteers, media representatives and Little League staff, who evaluated teams on integrity, respect and community representation throughout the event.
The Brno squad distinguished itself through disciplined behavior in dormitories, courteous interactions in dining halls and thoughtful responses during interviews, reinforcing the tournament’s emphasis on character development.
About the Jack Losch Award
Established in 2004 by former Little League player and All‑American football star Jack Losch, the award was created to highlight and encourage sportsmanship within the organization’s programs.
Since its inception, the honor has been bestowed upon teams from diverse regions, including Poland, Canada, Japan, Australia, Venezuela, the United States and, most recently, Brno, marking the fourth European or African victory.
The only year without a recipient was 2020, when the COVID‑19 pandemic forced cancellation of the World Series, underscoring the award’s role in maintaining continuity of values during challenging times.
