Head coach Jamal White stepped onto the sideline for his first varsity game, framing the victory as a collective statement. He emphasized unity and resilience, using the win to quiet skeptics who questioned the team’s depth after two consecutive state titles.
Key Contributors Shine
Benjamin Carter Jr. made a notable transition from the defensive line to linebacker, leading the defense and capping the effort with a rushing touchdown. Trey Alexander, making his debut for Winslow, exploded for 171 yards and two scores, showcasing speed and a hard‑nosed style that instantly endeared him to the crowd.
Jayson Nelson added two rushing touchdowns, while sophomore Javon Thompson, thrust into the lineup after Jalen Parker’s transfer, threw two touchdowns in his first appearance.
