A New Chapter for Beaverton High Girls Soccer
The 2026 Beaverton High School girls soccer squad will look markedly different from the previous season. Four senior starters, among them Metro League Player of the Year Lucy Hays, have graduated, leaving the team with a roster of eleven juniors and sophomores.
Head coach Chelsey Evans says the departure of those seniors does not signal a loss of the program’s core values. Inclusivity, a strong work ethic, joy and laughter remain the foundation of the team’s identity.
Coach Chelsey Evans' Vision for the Future
Evans emphasizes that the new group is still adjusting to limited practice time, but she sees an opportunity to build chemistry from the ground up. The players are learning to trust one another and to embrace a shared vision that prioritizes enjoyment and growth over pure competition.
Key returnees such as forward Kate Parker and defender Abby Rice provide continuity, while the broader group brings fresh energy. The coaching staff believes the blend of experience and youth will foster a resilient, cohesive unit.
Community Roots and Future Aspirations
Beyond the field, the team draws strength from Beaverton High’s longstanding culture of leadership and community engagement. The school’s reputation for excellence is reflected in the way seniors and juniors carry forward traditions of teamwork and mutual respect.
Coach Evans hopes the season will be a learning experience that extends beyond wins and losses. By focusing on camaraderie and personal development, the program aims to instill life lessons that players will carry forward.
