Louisiana Tech Bulldogs traveled to Nacogdoches, Texas, where they posted a 2-0 victory over the Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks on August 20, 2026, snapping a three-game winless streak in that venue and marking the program’s first back-to-back road wins in non-conference play since the shortened 2020-21 season.
A Road Win to Remember
The Bulldogs struck early, with Juliette Starck finding the net in the fifth minute after a precise pass from Abby Hanton, and Madison Pensom doubled the lead just before halftime, her third goal of the campaign arriving in the 31st minute following another assist from Starck and Hanton.
Reagan Roberts added insurance in the second half, striking from outside the box in the 54th minute, while a late red card forced the team to finish the match with ten players after SFA pulled one back in the 65th minute.
Despite being outshot 18-22, Louisiana Tech’s defense held firm, a performance highlighted by the steady hands of freshman keeper Mackenzie Lorkowski, who recorded her second win of the season and became only the third first-year goalkeeper since 2023 to achieve multiple victories.
Head Coach Matt Lodge praised the squad’s resilience, noting the team’s ability to adapt after setbacks and to capitalize on early opportunities, while also acknowledging the contributions of players like Brielle Buchanan, who provided depth on the roster.
Looking Ahead to the Home Opener
The next test will be a home encounter with the McNeese Cowgirls on September 3, a matchup that could extend the Bulldogs’ momentum as they aim to build on this historic road stretch.
