International basketball’s governing body announced on Tuesday that Jetour, the rapidly expanding SUV brand owned by Chery Holding Group, will serve as its Official Car Supplier for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 scheduled to open on August 27, 2027 in Qatar.
The deal brings a fleet of Jetour T1 and T2 vehicles to Doha, where they will be deployed to streamline transportation for tournament staff, officials and equipment, ensuring that the logistical backbone of the event matches the competition’s high standards.
FIBA Secretary General Andreas Zagklis welcomed the partnership, stating that “mobility is a cornerstone of delivering world‑class sporting experiences,” and that Jetour’s expertise aligns with FIBA’s vision of speed, precision and innovation.
Ke Chuandeng, President of Jetour, responded that the collaboration reflects the brand’s commitment to “speed, precision, and teamwork,” values that he said are shared by the global basketball community and integral to the company’s ‘Travel+’ philosophy.
Since its inception in 2018, Jetour has expanded to more than 45 countries, establishing a network of roughly 600 sales and service outlets. Its lineup, which includes models such as the Dashing, X70, X90 and the premium off‑road T2, is designed to meet the demands of both urban environments and rugged terrains.
Qatar represents a strategic market for Jetour, where the brand has cultivated a strong presence through vehicles tailored for city driving as well as off‑road adventures. The partnership is expected to further cement the company’s foothold in the region ahead of the tournament.
A mobility‑focused partnership
The agreement also underscores FIBA’s broader ambition to integrate advanced mobility solutions into the organization of its flagship events, a move that could set a precedent for future international sports competitions.
The collaboration reflects a growing trend where sports federations seek private‑sector partners capable of delivering not only branding exposure but also concrete operational support, a strategy that FIBA hopes will enhance the overall efficiency and sustainability of its tournaments.
