Madden Geiger, a 6‑foot‑9 Division I forward, has officially joined Sickles Basketball for the upcoming fall league, bringing a rare blend of size, shooting, passing and rebounding to a program that finished as the Class 6A state runner‑up last year.
Coach Mike Weaving praised the newcomer, noting that Geiger’s ability to space the floor, protect the rim and create off the dribble makes him a "great addition and teammate" as the Gryphons prepare for a competitive schedule.
A Roster Built for a Deep Run
Sickles returns key contributors such as guard Bob Buccino and forward Adrian Thomas, while guard Chase Weismiller, who missed most of the previous season due to an ACL tear, is back and ready to contribute after averaging 15.5 points as a sophomore.
The team’s recent success includes capturing the Tampa Summer League title with a 13‑2 record, defeating Tampa Catholic in the semifinals and Tampa Prep in the final, and earning a respectable showing at the Philly Live showcase where they fell to top‑ranked Philadelphia and Pittsburgh squads.
With a blend of veteran leadership and the newfound presence of a 6‑foot‑9 forward, Coach Weaving is confident the Gryphons can once again navigate the playoffs and contend for a state championship.
