Alessandro Bacabac, a freshman from Somers, Connecticut, has quickly made his mark on the Southern Connecticut State University men’s soccer program.
Rookie Impact
In his first week of competition he started both matches, scored two goals and added five shots, a performance that earned him the Northeast 10 Conference Rookie of the Week award.
His early success follows a high school career that included a run to the MLS Next Playoffs First Round and stints with the Philippines U20 national team pool, as well as club experience with New England Revolution and Met Oval Academy.
Bacabac’s international résumé also features appearances in Germany, Turkey and Sweden, underscoring a global background that adds depth to his game.
The Owls will test their new star on Saturday, September 5, when they host the Golden Falcons at James Moore Fieldhouse, kicking off at 1:00 PM. Southern Connecticut State enters the contest with a 0‑1‑1 record, while the Falcons sit at 1‑1‑0.
Both teams are looking to build momentum early in the season, and Bacabac’s contributions could prove pivotal as the schedule unfolds.
