A Road‑Heavy Start
The University of South Carolina Upstate men's soccer team will open its 2026 campaign on September 1 at Summers‑Taylor Stadium in Johnson City, Tennessee, where they meet East Tennessee State University.
Coach Michael Antoniewicz, in his second season at the helm, brings a 1‑2‑0 record after a 3‑0 victory over West Florida in the Spartans' only home win so far.
The match marks the first of three consecutive road games for Upstate, a stretch that also includes trips to UAB and Wake Forest before the team returns home to host College of Charleston on September 12.
ETSU arrives with a revamped roster featuring 19 newcomers and a preseason Southern Conference ranking of sixth, having earned 13 points in the coaches poll.
Despite the challenging schedule, the Spartans hope to build on the momentum from their early win and the experience of a Big South Tournament semifinal run under Antoniewicz last year.
