Brandon Martinez, a veteran assistant coach with a reputation for developing talent and fostering academic success, has accepted a new role at Angelina College.
Background and Achievements
During his four‑year stint at Coastal Bend Community College, Martinez guided the program to a 95% transfer and graduation rate among student‑athletes, while mentoring Jeremiah Anderson and Breion Powell, the college’s only All‑Conference All‑American finalists.
At Huntsville High School he engineered a district‑record 43‑game winning streak and earned three consecutive Assistant Coach of the Year honors, a testament to his ability to build sustained excellence.
His coaching journey also includes a seven‑year period in Houston where he led teams at Klein Forest, Aldine Davis, and Conroe Oak Ridge, and a tenure as an assistant at Texas A&M University–Kingsville, where he served as Community Service Ambassador and captured the Lone Star Conference Community Service Award in 2013.
Education and Personal Life
Martinez holds a bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Houston and now lives in Lufkin with his wife, Linda, and their five children: Bianca, Cataleya, Ezmi, Liliana and Brandon Jr.
