Colorado State Rams Embrace a New Chapter with Coach Jim Mora

The program’s overhaul includes a conference move, new apparel and upgraded facilities as it prepares for a high‑profile 2026 season

Colorado State University’s football program is entering a pivotal season in 2026, marked by a series of transformations that reshape the team’s identity on and off the field.

A New Era Under Jim Mora

Jim Mora, a veteran coach with stints at UConn and UCLA and a background in the NFL, has taken over as head coach, succeeding Jay Norvell.

The roster will look markedly different as well. CSU will field a squad of 75 players who were not part of the 2025 roster, reflecting a comprehensive rebuild that extends to the coaching staff, where more than a dozen new assistants have been added.

Beyond personnel, the program is set to make a conference leap, moving from the Mountain West to the Pac‑12. The move brings with it a unique scheduling model that includes a ‘flex week’ for the final regular‑season game, giving the conference greater flexibility in matchups.

Apparel and Facility Upgrades

In a partnership that replaces Under Armour with Adidas, the Rams have unveiled a suite of new uniforms, including white road jerseys and an orange ‘Ag Day’ throwback design that pays homage to the university’s agricultural roots.

Canvas Stadium has also received upgrades, notably a new artificial turf and improvements to the practice fields, aiming to provide a modern playing environment for the team.

Broadcast coverage will be extensive, with games slated for CBS, CBS Sports Network, USA Sports and The CW. Reporters, including Kevin Lytle, will deliver updates across X, Instagram, Threads and Bluesky, keeping fans engaged throughout the season.
