Arizona State’s men’s basketball program is set to navigate a demanding 14‑game nonconference schedule in Randy Bennett’s inaugural season, a slate that blends home‑court familiarity with high‑profile road tests.
Home Court Advantage
The schedule features ten contests at Desert Financial Arena, the most the team has hosted in a nonconference window since the 2011‑12 campaign, giving the Sun Devils a chance to build early chemistry in front of their home crowd.
SEC Showdowns and Palm Springs Series
Three of those road tests will come against SEC powerhouses, with LSU, South Carolina and Oklahoma all slated to meet ASU, while the Acrisure Series in Palm Springs will host the Sun Devils for showdowns against LSU and South Carolina.
Neutral‑Site Challenges and Rivalry Renewal
A neutral‑site matchup against Oklahoma will take place at Tulsa’s BOK Center, a roughly two‑hour drive from the Sooners’ base in Norman, adding a logistical twist to the nonconference slate.
The series also includes a return trip to Corvallis to face former Pac‑12 rival Oregon State, reviving a rivalry that last met in Tempe earlier in the decade.
Opening Night and the Road Ahead
The season opens on November 2 with a home game against East Tennessee State at Desert Financial Arena, a game that will kick off a stretch of contests that runs through late December.
Beyond the marquee matchups, the schedule lists additional opponents such as New Mexico, Northern Colorado, Hofstra, UL Monroe, Oakland, Montana, Mercer, San Diego, Idaho and Southern Illinois, rounding out a diverse slate that will test the team’s depth.
Broadcast details are slated to be announced later, but the timeline stretches from October 25 to December 29, promising a packed stretch of games that could set the tone for Bennett’s tenure.
