Two youth football coaches have been handed indefinite suspensions after a violent altercation erupted during a league match between Keystone Oaks and Carlynton.
A Culture of Accountability
The Steel City Youth Football League’s executive board announced the sanctions, emphasizing its zero‑tolerance stance on conduct that threatens the safety of players, families and officials.
Ryan Crux, a parent from Carlynton, captured the confrontation on video and posted the footage to Facebook, where it quickly attracted public attention.
In response, the league barred the suspended coaches from any future league events, and each of the participating organizations placed five additional coaches on similar suspension lists.
The inquiry will now examine video recordings, referee reports and eyewitness statements, with the possibility of expanding the investigation to include other staff members, coaches or even spectators if new evidence emerges.
League officials warned that further breaches of the code of conduct could result in permanent, lifelong bans, underscoring the seriousness with which the sport’s governing bodies are treating the matter.
