Texas A&M football has published its inaugural depth chart for the 2024 campaign, offering a first look at how the Aggies plan to arrange their lineup before the season opener against Missouri State.
Among those listed are Mike Elko, Kat Castner, David Olano, Asher Murray, Julio Humphrey, Dezz Ricks, Rickekky Gibson III, Tyree Adams, Mark Nabou Jr., Wilkin Formby, Blake Ivy, Tyler Thomas, Trovon Baugh, Coen Echols, Rueben Owens II, Jamarion Marrow, Micah Riley, Richie Anderson, Houston Thomas, Daymion Sanford, Noah Mikhail, Ray Coney, and Lyle Hemphill, all of whom are part of the program’s current roster.
Position battles take shape
At kicker, veteran David Olano earned the starting role over Asher Murray, whose 56‑yard field goal set a school record. Olano brings a solid track record, having converted 37 of 43 field goals during his three‑year stint at Illinois.
In the secondary, Julio Humphrey emerged as the top cornerback, while Dezz Ricks and Rickekky Gibson III continue to battle for the field corner spot.
The offensive line appears set at three positions: Tyree Adams will man left tackle, Mark Nabou Jr. is locked in at center, and Wilkin Formby holds down right tackle. The two guard spots remain up for grabs, with Blake Ivy and Tyler Thomas competing on the left side and Trovon Baugh and Coen Echols vying on the right.
At tight end, the Aggies will rotate among Micah Riley, Richie Anderson and Houston Thomas, providing depth and versatility.
Linebacker duties feature a game‑time decision on Daymion Sanford, with Noah Mikhail and Ray Coney as the primary alternatives.
Running backs Rueben Owens II and Jamarion Marrow are slated to share starting duties, adding a dynamic element to the backfield.
The coaching staff expressed enthusiasm about testing the preseason depth chart in the upcoming matchup against Missouri State, a game that will serve as the first real gauge of the team’s preparations.
