A new D‑BAT Baseball & Softball Academy is set to open its doors in the former Big Lots space at The Shops of England Run on Warrenton Road in Stafford County, Virginia.
The 14,000‑square‑foot facility will house ten batting cages, a Rawlings‑branded pro shop and a flexible flex room designed for community events, representing a significant expansion of indoor training capacity in the region.
Owners Carrie and Brent Curtis plan to launch the academy in December 2025 or early January 2026, with a staffing plan that includes three full‑time employees and several part‑time trainers who bring collegiate experience to the program.
By offering walk‑in access for families and local teams, the academy addresses a long‑standing gap in public‑friendly training sites within the Stafford–Fredericksburg corridor, a region where few existing facilities open their doors to the general public.
While the D‑BAT brand already operates state‑of‑the‑art academies in Manassas and Hampton Roads, this will be its first location in the Stafford–Fredericksburg area, marking a new chapter for the network.
Membership details and a limited introductory offer are expected to be announced once the opening date is finalized, and the owners have indicated that the academy will not be tied to any single travel or high‑school program, instead promoting participation through various local leagues.
