The recent All-District selections for the 2025-2026 school year have put the Port Isabel soccer and golf programs in the spotlight, recognizing a host of standout athletes and coaching excellence.
Soccer Honors
Luis Ulloa was crowned Defensive MVP after a season that saw the team finish 13-13 overall, a testament to his defensive prowess.
Derrek Herrera earned a spot on the first team, while Ivan Callejas and Kevin Garcia joined him on the first team, and Josue Trejo was selected for the second team as a forward.
Coach Chris Ortiz, alongside seniors Trejo, Herrera and Ulloa, represented the district in the East vs West All-Star game, showcasing the region’s talent on a broader stage.
Golf Accolades
In golf, Maria Ramirez made the second team, while Justin Garza captured both Most Valuable Player and Newcomer of the Year honors, and Carter Taylor secured first-team recognition. Coach Fernando Lopez was named Coach of the Year, and Garza also celebrated a back-to-back district championship.
