The Nebraska School Activities Association (NSAA) has confirmed that the annual State Baseball Championships will be postponed to Saturday after a sudden bout of severe weather threatened the original schedule.
Revised Championship Schedule
Class C will open the slate at noon, featuring a showdown between Lincoln Lutheran and Mount Michael Benedictine. The Class B matchup between Elkhorn North and Skutt Catholic follows at 3:30 p.m., while the Class A title game caps the day with a 7 p.m. start, pitting Lincoln East against Millard North.
Officials said the decision was made to ensure the safety of players, coaches, and spectators, and to provide a clear window for field conditions to improve before the games commence.
Fans who had planned to attend the original Friday lineup will need to adjust their plans, but the association expects strong attendance on Saturday as teams vie for the coveted titles. Updates will be posted on the NSAA website as the event approaches.
