Rico Hines, a longtime NBA coach and native of Pitt County, North Carolina, is gearing up to host his third annual youth basketball clinic, "Know Your Big Picture," on Saturday, September 12.
The event, taking place in Winterville, will welcome boys and girls from ages 6 through 18, offering a curriculum that blends fundamental skill work, teamwork drills, and basketball IQ training.
Community Impact
All proceeds from the clinic will support Horizons of Pitt County, a nonprofit that runs a tuition‑free summer academic program at Lakeforest Elementary, combining classroom instruction with extracurricular activities.
Coach Hines stresses that the clinic is designed to develop more than just basketball abilities; it aims to nurture teamwork, confidence, and a deeper understanding of the game, while giving back to the community that shaped his own journey.
By partnering with Horizons of Pitt County, the event underscores a broader commitment to educational enrichment and youth development throughout Pitt County, reinforcing local investment in the next generation of scholars and athletes.
